Mijn wifes houdt stellend me deze vraag en I don´t heeft het antwoord. Na de zomer waar iedereen gebruikt komen hun pool en bitter koud aan. Wat aan de pools gebeurt die met water tijdens de zomer werden gevuld. ? Wat gebeurt aan de pooltegels? Als het water binnen blijft, doesn' t het vorst die belemmert de pijpen? Wat gebeurt precies? Wat mensen doen?

If it’s an above the ground pool you drain about a foot of the water out of it and cover it.
If its’ an in-ground pool you just cover it.
In both cases you remove any relatively fragile parts of the filter – or the whole filter – and store them inside.

by the sounds of it you have a concrete pool being that you mentioned tiles. if so here is what you do. the best thing is to make sure that your water is ballanced. then give it a good shocking. when i worked for a pool company years ago we dumped about 5 gallons of liquid chlorine in it along with a 1 litre bottle of algicide. you need to pump out the water until it is just below your returns { jets }. then you must remove the water from them. you can either blow the water out of your return lines or use a wet vacuum and suck it out. after you have removed as much water as possible wrap the threads of your winter plugs with teflon tape and screw them in until they are snug there are alos expansion plugs if your returns are not threaded inside. if your main drain { the round part in the deep end } is hooked into your skimmer then you need to put a winter plug in the back hole of the skimmer. then remove all of the water from your skimmer line that goes to the pump. after you have done that pour some anti freeze down the skimmer hole to fill up the line, just use rv antifreeze not auto anti freeze. screw your plug into the skimmer and tighten then fill the skimmer with the rest of the rv anti freeze. you now need to drain the pump, filter and heater or solar system depending on what you have. take all of the plugs out of them and make sure they drain. put all of the plugs in the basket in the veloot of your pump so you have them next spring. make sure you also remove the pressure guage from your filter. in Canada we use alot of sand filters you may have a cartridge filter. if so remove filter[s] and clean them. turn the dial valve on your filter between any 2 of the settings. if the equipment is outside you can cover it but not needed. now you have to put on the winter cover. there are different types. the most common is a poly tarp with loops around the edges. they are for water bags. you need to fill the water bags but only to about 60% full they expand when frozen and will burst if they are too full.cover the pool with the winter cover. put a few inches of water on it if you want for weight so the wind doesn’t lift it up. put your water bags all of the way around sliding them through the loops. you may also have a fitted cover where the edge of the cover slides into the coping inside your pool. if you have alot of leaves around you may want to put a leaf cover over it but remove it when the leaves are gone and before freeze up. i hope that this helps you.
