Peter L asked:

If there’s an earthquake and water supplies are cut off, would I be able to drink water from a swimming pool? If so, how could I tell whether it’s safe?

No, you cannot. The pool chemicals don’t kill off all bacteria, and drinking significant amounts of the pool chemicals can cause illness (source: san diego OES)

Yes, If you dont have anything else.
You will die faster without any water than from chemicals that are normally present in swimming pool water.
